Student Leadership Induction Ceremony
The 2022 Student Leadership Team will be inducted tomorrow morning in the school hall. Unfortunately we are unable to invite parents to join us in the hall, however, the event will be available to anyone to watch via Zoom. Our General Assistant, Mr Scott, will be on hand to take photos for us.
- The Induction Assembly begins at 10am sharp
- The Meeting ID is 671 8282 9679
- The Passcode is year5
We look forward to inducting next year’s leaders.
At this time we will also acknowledge and thank our current Student Leadership Team for their amazing efforts this year. Whilst they have not had the same opportunities as previous years, they have certainly made positive contributions to our school. Thank you to all 26 members of this year’s Leadership Team.
Year 6 Graduation Farewell
Last night the school held the annual Year 6 Farewell in the school hall. It was an amazing night for the students who all reported having a wonderful time. Special thanks must go to Mrs Bec Collins who orchestrated the evening. The hall was amazing and everything was perfect for the students. Normally the organisation begins at the beginning of Term 3, however, it was only four or so weeks ago we were given permission to go ahead with this event. You would never have known. Congratulations! Thanks also to all the parents involved throughout the last four weeks. Many parents gave up their Sunday to decorate the hall, with many staying back late last night to clean up. To each and every one of you, thank you.
Congratulations to our graduating class of 2021. You will be sorely missed at PHPS but we all know you are on to bigger and better things in your future. We are all looking forward to seeing what that journey brings for all of you. Thank you for the contributions you have made to our school. These contributions are what shapes our school and gives it the great name that it enjoys in the wider community.
Reports
Next Monday 13 December each student will receive their academic report for Semester Two. This semester the report has been slightly adjusted due to NSW Department of Education guidelines due to the Term 3 and 4 lockdown. The report will highlight student achievement in English and Mathematics specifically with an accompanying Effort grade. There will not be an allocation for an A-E grade for any Key Learning Area. The General Comment will provide you additional information on student achievement and highlight strengths and future focus areas.
The teachers have put an incredible amount of time and effort into these reports to ensure they accurately reflect the individual learning of your child. Thank you to the staff for their commitment and dedication to ensuring an accurate report for each student.
P&C Meeting
It has been a while since we have been able to hold an in-person P&C meeting, but that is happening tonight. It will be fantastic to be able to come together to wrap up this year and begin to discuss the possibilities and exciting opportunities for next year. All parents are welcome to attend, as long as you can meet the following NSW Health/DoE guidelines.
- Fully vaccinated – P&C President or delegate is to sight your status
- Check-in using the school QR code (located at the hall)
- Wear a mask when indoors
The meeting will be held in the school hall on the K-2 site and begins at 7:30pm. I look forward to seeing you there.
Class Party Day
Next Tuesday will be the Class Party Day for all classes. All students will be able to wear mufti clothes to celebrate their achievements this year. Despite the challenges there has been an incredible amount of personal growth for each and every student. Each child is to supply their own party food as there will not be any shared food. The day will consist of some fun activities that each class teacher will design for the day.
Further and more specific information will come home later this week for your child’s teacher.
SRE and Primary Ethics
Thank you to all our Scripture and Primary Ethics teachers for their passion and dedication to educating our students this year. Sadly, it has been a year heavily impacted by Covid-19, however, these fabulous people give up their time each and every week for the students. On behalf of our school community, I thank you for your service and commitment. We wish you a safe and Merry Christmas, and we most certainly look forward to seeing you back at our school at the beginning of next year.
Kind Regards
Mr Matt Pinchbeck
Principal
A MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
Around the grounds – Year 6 Farewell
Oh what a night! A starry, starry night for that matter! Year 6 enjoyed a marvellous evening of dancing, food, fun and laughter last night as they farewelled their time in primary school. We all really hope our Year 6 students enjoyed their evening. From the looks of awe and amazement on their faces as they walked through the doors, to the smiles and laughter as they sat with their friends, joked and danced the night away, I’d say they did!
We are so lucky to have such a committed community who truly rallied together to pull off one of the most spectacular of evenings! Special thanks must go to the Year 5 parents/carers who formed the Year 6 Farewell Committee, headed by Bec C, who worked tirelessly to purchase decorations, build features, create roof hangings, pin and cut out about a million stars, hang up another million fairy lights, decorate tables with candles and painted jars, organise dinner and cake for 90 people and then turn around and pull it all back down – we thank you! Shout out to Bec C, Bec S, Nicola L, Brooke N, Nick A, Julie M, Dee H, Karyn P, Greg R, Andy and Nic P, Lauren B, Sam M, Louise G, Sye C, Kelly M, Angela M, Jo C, Al M, Tim B, Jon P and no doubt I have missed someone, I am truly sorry – it was a team effort and you did such an amazing job!
Thank you also to Mrs McLaren, coordinator extraordinaire! And to the Year 6 teachers for assisting on the night (and having a dance! – they will miss these students), and to Mrs Griffith who ensured all the balls stayed in the air.
Kind Regards
Mrs Kate Wasson

A Massive thank you to the amazing Year 5 Parents
Dear Year 5 parents,
Thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into making our Year 6 farewell a reality, especially during COVID.
It was an amazing, magical night, and we loved everything about it. The decorations were spectacular! You must have spent a huge amount of time putting the event together. So many of us screamed when we entered the hall. The food was delicious, and it made the farewell even better.
We will remember the time we had that night for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much for everything!

Year Six Farewell
Everyone was very excited about the Year six farewell. It was planned out for us by the wonderful Year 5 parents.
The theme was ‘starry night’. When we arrived at the school hall, we were amazed to see the ceiling covered in whitish-yellow strings of tiny lights. There were bigger blue and white lights on the floor and other lights everywhere. The entire hall was lit up by beautiful dark galaxy blue lights with gold and silver paper stars hanging down from the ceiling. There were also strings of lights in bottles on the dinner tables as well.
We spent a lot of the evening dancing. Everyone danced, even the people who normally don't like to. We had the best time of our lives, thanks to Arnold, Mr. Pinchbeck, the Year 5 parents and every one of our wonderful teachers.

Reminder notices have been distributed and many books have been returned. School library books can be easily identified by the school barcode that is on the front cover.
If a student can’t find their books the reminder notice needs to be returned with a brief message explaining that the book cannot be found.

President’s Message
Hi All
Less than 2 weeks to go until we can hopefully all have a well deserved break! This week is the last week for the Uniform Shop and Canteen. A big thank you to Alison, Heather, Catherine and Narelle for their flexibility and persistence this term.
The final P&C General Meeting for the year is being held onsite in the hall tonight, Tuesday 7 December from 7.00pm. We welcome all PHPS families to come along and enjoy a social night together to celebrate the end of this challenging year. Mr Pinchbeck and the P&C will update parents and the community on school activities for December and early 2022. Sadly, we will be farewelling some families from PHPS, and thank them for their commitment and dedication to P&C executive roles and subcommittees over the years.
Parent attendance to the end of year celebration and the meeting is welcomed, and your contribution to discussion is always encouraged, to support a progressive and thriving school community. We hope to see you there.
*For this month only the meeting will not be available in an online format. In 2022 we hope to provide both onsite and dial in options each month.

This coming Friday, 10 December, is the last canteen day for this year. Hopefully, the new canteen will be ready for operation shortly after school resumes next year.
We have been missing the help of our wonderful volunteers this term, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped out in, or for the canteen in any way this year.
We need to say a special thank you and sadly, farewell, to Vicki Q, who has spent many, many Fridays in the canteen. She also helped on other days when there was a need as well as carnivals and special days, and served on the canteen committee!!!! We have had a lot of fun and you will be sorely missed. All the best for you and your family as you start your next chapter.
Another special thank you and sad farewell to Naomi D. Naomi is a committee member and has been an enormous help with various carnivals and special days. She was also helping me almost every Tuesday in the canteen earlier this year, allowing us to do over the counter sales. Thank you for always being so willing to spend your precious days off providing much needed help in the canteen. Your enthusiasm and cheerfulness will be missed! We wish you and your family a wonderful future!!
We hope everyone has a fantastic summer holiday and we want to wish all of year 6 a fabulous first year of high school!!
Thank you for ordering.
If you have any questions, or would like to be involved with the canteen, please contact me.
