A MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
Celebration of Learning
Yesterday saw our school return to Pennant Hills High School for our annual Celebration of Learning. Despite an awkwardly timed storm, everything ran smoothly and all students were acknowledged for their efforts this year. Congratulations to those students who received an award, you have worked very hard and deserve to be proud of your efforts. Thank you to Mrs Griffith for your coordination of the event, Ms Stevens, Ms Schmidt and Mrs Krivohlavy for your organisation and time in ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thank you to all the teachers who braved the weather with their classes and to all the families who were able to come along and celebrate a great year.
Year 6 Farewell
Oh what a night! Our Year 6 students had an absolute blast at the Year 6 Farewell last night. A huge thank you must go to Mrs Geisker for leading the Year 6 Farewell parent committee and ensuring a brilliant night was had for our students. Thank you to all the parents who assisted in many ways; creating decorations, spending hours putting up the decorations and setting up the hall, taking down the decorations, organising treat bags, organising dinner (thank you Jimmy’s Smash Burgers!) and all of the pre-planning that took place including a neon art night and fundraising events. It was truly wonderful to see the students so happy.
Christmas Charity
THANK YOU! From all the Children and staff at Westmead Children’s Hospital for your generous donations to our Christmas Toy Appeal. The lady who I dropped the donations off to was astounded at the number of new toys, books and gift cards that were donated – a whole boot load! We have such an amazing community here and can not thank you enough for your generosity after what has been a difficult year for many.
Year 2 – Year 3 transition
A few weeks ago our Year 2 students spent some time up on the 3-6 site with the Year 3 students talking all things transition. They had many questions about what life would be like ‘on the other side/site’ and our Year 3 students were keen to be the experts. These transition sessions assist in the continuity of learning and engagement for our students and assist in easing any anxiety around moving to the other site.
Movie Day
All students are lucky enough to be attending a movie day today at Castle Hill cinemas. One of the many extra fun activities that happen at this time of year!
Kind Regards

Overdue Library Books
The last overdue book notices for 2022 will be issued this week, so please continue looking for these books over the Christmas holidays. If your child attends BASC it is always advisable to check there too. Our school library books can be recognised by the “Pennant Hills Public School” barcode label which is located on the front cover.
If your child receives an overdue notice and you cannot find the book, please let me know so we can double-check the shelves.
Did you know that PHPS students can borrow eBooks and Audiobooks?
Our library subscribes to the Wheelers ePlatform which allows students to borrow eBooks and Audiobooks.
Using a device via the ePlatform app or through a web browser, students have access to a digital library which has a collection of over 2000 books. eBooks and Audiobooks can be easily borrowed and are returned automatically.
This video explains how simple it is to download the ePlatform app. Alternatively, our school’s eLibrary can be accessed via this link http://pennanthil.eplatform.co/ or the Oliver school library website which is accessed via the DoE student portal.
The students use their school username and password to sign into our school’s ePlatform. They can borrow up to two books at a time for a two week period. Please note that Wheelers set these borrowing rules not the school.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and enjoy some great holiday reading too!

President’s Message
Hi All
2022 has been another great year for our school and community, as we transitioned back to almost normal school activities.
This has demonstrated again that one of Pennant Hills Public School's strengths is how the families, community and the school work in partnership to get the best possible outcomes for our children.
On behalf of the P&C, I'd like to thank all of the teachers and staff for their hard work throughout the year. I'd also like to thank all the parents and community who volunteered and donated throughout 2022.
Finally, I'd like to thank the students and families who are leaving the school this year and wish you all the best for the future.
Have a great summer break and we’re looking forward to 2023.
PS - fingers crossed for Obstacool later this week!
