Grandparents Day
Yesterday we welcomed grandparents and special friends from our K-2 families up to our Grandparent’s Day. We had a fabulous turn out with standing room only as the performances from our K-2 students began. We had the Year 2 Dance Group, The Trebor Rd choir, Year 1 singing, Kindergarten singing and then all of K-2 in a finale performance. The smiles on the faces of our grandparents and special friends was testament to the assembly. Well done to all of our K-2 students on their brilliant performances and a thank you to Mr Arnold for accompanying the dancers, the K-2 teachers for all that they do to showcase the students talents and to Ms Parras for organising the event. Our P&C and class parents as well as other parents in the community contributed plates of food for a delicious morning tea – thank you so much!
The relationship between grandparent/special person and grandchild is a truly special bond and we are so glad to be able to celebrate this relationship with you. Thank you for coming!

Interest Groups
Our Year 3-6 students participated in their second session of Interest Groups last week and look at the amazing time they are having, being fully engaged in activities and projects that they have self-selected. These interest groups are all linked to curriculum areas, are run by highlighting skills within our staff and provide all students, including those with Giftedness and High Potential, the development of an identified skillset.

Year 2 Assembly Leaders
While the 3-6 Interest Groups are running, the K-2 assembly is also taking place. The school leader are heavily engaged in their interest groups, which means the Year 2 students are responsible for running their assembly. And what a brilliant job they did! They truly have risen to the occasion, speaking beautifully and trying their best – good job!

2024 Planning
We are well underway into planning for 2024.
- Are you leaving PHPS? Please could you let our office know if your child/ren is not returning for 2024. Our student numbers dictate the amount of teachers and classes we have and the slightest change can have big impacts on our classes and staffing.
- Requests for 2024. If you have requests for the placement of your child for 2024, please make these requests via email with attention Mrs Wasson in the subject line. All requests will be considered, but not guaranteed. Requests for particular teachers are not considered, as our staff are all K-6 teachers and movement between grades is not only common, it is positive for their professional learning and the betterment of the school.
We will always plan to the best of our ability with students at the forefront of our decision making.
Term 4 Fees
A reminder that our Term 4 fees are now overdue. Please ensure you make payments through Schoolbytes to keep on top of your child/ren’s school fees.
Semester 2 Reports
As we transition to the Schoolbytes application, student academic reports for Semester 2 2023 will be digital and accessed through your Schoolbytes Portal.
Please download the Schoolbytes App or you can access Schoolbytes online to ensure you are able to receive your child/ren's report for this semester.
Set up your Parent Portal Account
Our reports will look different this Semester, with a more goal-oriented focus. We will be seeking feedback on the new reports later this term.
Thank you to those parents/carers who are already accessing Schoolbytes for payments, we will continue to transition to this platform in the coming months.
Kind Regards
Kate Wasson
