Student Reports
This Friday all students will receive their Semester Two Academic Report for this semester. The report will highlight their level of effort and achievement for this semester based on the syllabus outcomes that have been covered in class. It is possible for students to receive a ‘High’ in Semester One and a ‘Sound’ in Semester Two. This is dependent on the Outcomes covered during the semester. The report also contains areas for further development for your knowledge. The teachers have spent countless hours compiling these reports on your children. If you have any queries please contact your child’s teacher to discuss. As a parent, I solely focus on their effort, as this is the only area the children can control.
Year 6 Farewell
Last night Year 5 and 6 students thoroughly enjoyed the Year 6 Farewell. It was an amazing night for the children. Many wonderful parents supported the students in organising the night. These people include Jen Ashton and her team of countless parents for the food preparation, hall decoration and invitations, Stage Three teachers and Arnold for choreographing the children’s dancers. Thank you to all the other teachers who attended on the night to celebrate our Year 6 students as they move into high school.
Celebration of Learning
Last Friday saw the school hold its Celebration of Learning for 2019. On this day, we acknowledged the achievements of the students throughout the year. It was a wonderful day and I received many positive comments about the feel of the day. That thanks and appreciation is because of all the work that Mrs Griffith did in the lead up to the day with her excellent organising. Thank you to all our special guests for attending and playing their part in celebrating the student’s successes for 2019.
Pizza Lunch
Today many students attended a Pizza Lunch with Mrs Wasson and myself. These students have continued to display wonderful manners and excellent effort with their learning and have earnt this reward. Well done boys and girls, keep up the excellent effort and dedication to your learning.
Kind Regards
Mr Matt Pinchbeck

A MESSAGE FROM THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL
Celebration of Learning
Congratulations to all of our amazing students, particularly those who received awards during our Celebration of Learning assemblies on Friday. An excellent job by the choirs, strings and band who performed brilliantly. Thank you to all of the Pennant Hills students, you behaved wonderfully in both the walk to and from the high school in the heat and throughout the assemblies. A special thank you to our guests, Mrs Griffith and the Leaders who ensured a successful assembly.
Year 6 Farewell
Last night saw, what I believe to be, one of the best Year 6 farewells I have ever been to! A huge thank you must go to the Year 5 parents who spent hours and hours setting up and preparing for what was a most spectacular evening. The food was delicious, the dancing was amazing, the decorations were literally and figuratively out of this world and most importantly, the students had fun! (Parents did too, some photo evidence below). Congratulations Year 6 on a wonderful year, you will be missed at Pennant Hills and we wish you all the best for your bright futures.
A visit from Santa
We were very lucky to welcome the big man in red to our K-2 assembly last week! Thank you Santa for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend our assembly, the students at Pennant Hills have been very good this year! A wonderful dance was performed by the Year 2 students, thank you for your entertainment!
Stage 2 Museum in a box
Stage 2 have been involved in the study of ‘My Place’ which touches on Australian history and involves a detailed picture book, multimodal texts and digital stories. As part of their unit of work, Stage 2 created a ‘Museum in a box’ and I was lucky enough to pop into 4M as they were displaying their museum in a box to 3R. It is not only wonderful to see the hard work and collaboration that students are putting into their work but also that they are sharing it with their peers in other classes.
Kind Regards
Mrs Kate Wasson
Deputy Principal

STRATEGIC DIRECTION 3 - YEAR IN REFLECTION
The Staff at Pennant Hills Public School have strived to strengthen family and community partnerships for the benefit of the students. Our aim was to provide parents with knowledge of how to support the learning and emotional wellbeing of their child.
Throughout the year, Strategic Direction 3 have provided opportunities to strengthen these relationships, by delivering a range of events and programs. Some examples include the PHPS Café, run by Angela Krivolahvy, Parent/teacher interviews, Maths interviews, the Interrelate program, 1,2,3 Magic course, High School transition day and pre-school visits from Adventures Pre-School.
Additionally, our team have aimed to strengthen relationships by informing our parents of progress in Newsletters, along with conducting surveys such as the ‘Tell Them From Me’ survey and collecting feedback on the parent website. We would like to thank the parents, community members and staff for working together to improve and support our school and student learning.
Our resident artist (Robyn Martin) has been working hard to complete our mural on the K-2 site. Year 6 have done a number of fundraisers throughout the year to raise money towards our beautiful mural. Please drop past and have a look.
